The Future Isn't What It Used To Be
Today's healthcare environment is more challenging than ever before. With declining payor reimbursement, escalating overhead requirements and ever increasing pressures of containing healthcare costs, some may question their ability to continue providing quality healthcare while maintaining a financially viable medical practice. Today, physicians and hospitals alike must look for better ways to provide quality care at an affordable price and still maintain profitability.

In an effort to help physicians provide more efficient and cost-effective healthcare, Coastal Physicians Purchasing Group (CPPG), a nonprofit group purchasing organization (GPO), was formed. The mission of CPPG is to provide a full spectrum of practice services to physicians in order to increase efficiencies and improve economic viability of their practices. The focus of the GPO is to obtain discounted buying arrangements using the clout of a group purchasing entity.

In an effort to continually improve the services offered through CPPG, we encourage any feedback you may have regarding experiences with our contracted vendors, as well as any suggestions for other services that might be provided through CPPG.

Physicians on the medical staff of Hoag Hospital and Fountain Valley Medical Center are the only physicians eligible for membership.

Membership Agreement
Each participant in CPPG will need to sign a membership agreement and pay an annual membership fee. The membership agreement will serve as the organization's record of your participation in the CPPG program.

Financial Relationships
Coastal Physicians Purchasing Group negotiates discounts and develops products and services on behalf of its members. However, all financial relationships and obligations are between the physician and vendor. Physicians will pay the vendor directly for their own products and services received, and CPPG accepts no responsibility for any financial liability or other obligation incurred between physicians and vendors participating in the CPPG program. In order to qualify for program discounts, the payment of account balances must be kept current.

Program
As a member of CPPG, participation in any of the GPO programs is entirely optional. Physicians should utilize those products and services they feel will most benefit their practices. However, as many of the discounted programs are contingent upon the volume of business CPPG is able to provide, utilization of participating vendors is encouraged whenever possible.
